Charles Schmidt was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1939. He received a BFA in painting from Carnegie Mellon University in 1960 and an MFA in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1967. He is professor of Drawing and Painting at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia.
Schmidt has done several paintings for NASA relating to the artist's eye-witness images of the space shuttle launch of Columbia (STS-5). One of his paintings eulogizing the space shuttle tragedy han (showing 500 of 1221 characters). |
