| painter. Born in New Zealand on Nov. 22, 1874, Siemer settled in Los Angeles in 1906. He soon was commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce to paint a series of mural-size canvases to promote the area. Siemer was active there until his death on Feb. 6, 1940. A master of color and composition, architecture is often included in his paintings. Exh: Century of Progress (Chicago), 1933; Painters & Sculptors of LA, 1930s; GGIE, 1939; Calif.
