Doing primarily quiet landscapes and figurative work, David Slonim is inspired by finding beauty in unexpected places such as clunky old tractors. A reoccurring theme is human use of the land and the tensions arising from that interaction.
He is an illustrator whose clients include "The New York Times," IBM, UPS and "Reader's Digest," and he has exhibited his work at the Society of Illustrators.
However, he credits reading a book by still life painter David Leffel as a turning poi (showing 500 of 6048 characters). |
