This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Deborah Christensen Secor is a pastel artist, teacher and writer. She is a regular contributer to "The Pastel Journal" and she teaches workshops and classes throughout the year. The artist is the founder of The Pastel Society of New Mexico.
She began painting in pastels in the 1980s. Mastel pastelist Albert Handell was a very influential teacher as was Kitty Wallis, who created a special sanded pastel paper that Secor adopted as the ground for many of her pastels.
