Biography from Art Gateway Inc./Titus Paul Gallery:
Dottie Sprenger was born in Illinois, (1931) pre World War II. Her Father was an artist in his later years, after the primitive style of Grandma Moses. Dottie started painting in the early 1960's and continues to paint today. Of Dutch, Irish and English descent, Dottie has traveled all over the world to paint, although she has focused mainly on her love of the Southwest.

Studying under teachers including Robert Wood, Ted DeGrazia, Don Ruffin, Dick Phillips, and Adrien Hansen, Dottie started touring California, New Mexico, Nevada and Mexico. She traveled to and painted each one of the twenty-one California Missions. Along with other artists, she toured La Paz, with a group of students learning to paint in the Plein Air method. She has been exhibited in many nationwide art shows and galleries.

She paints in several different mediums, having started mainly in oils, is very versatile, painting with mixed media, watercolors, charcoals, oils, acrylics, palette knife or brush. A Missionary friend gifted a Prince of India with one of her original works over thirty years ago.

She is a mother of four and grandmother to twenty-one and donates her time to travel to foreign countries to distribute medicine, medical care, Bibles, clothing, and perhaps to catch a glimpse of what may be her next work of art.
