A native Californian, Douglas Sievers is a painter of serene landscapes in a style that reflects Barbizon Impressionism and Tonalism combined with Realism.
Interested in art from childhood, Sievers studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and the Center College of Design in Pasadena. For many years he painted in watercolor and was juried into the 1990 American Watercolor Society International Exhibition in New York City, but in the early 1990s turned to studio oil p (showing 500 of 4214 characters). |
