| Born in Toledo, Ohio on July 21, 1892.
Following service in WWI, Schmidt settled in Berkeley, CA in 1923.
During his last years he was an ordinance inspector at UC. He died in nearby Hayward on Sept. 11, 1958. His works include scenes of Marin County.
