| Fletcher Sultzer was born in Ohio on June 3, 1853. Fletcher was a pseudonym; the artist was born John Wesley Sultzer. He had a studio in St Louis, Missouri in 1910-30. By 1933 he had settled in Long Beach, California where he was a member of the Spectrum Club. He died there on January 4, 1944. A highly skilled landscape painter, his works are rare.
