| | Born in Omaha, NE on Aug. 19, 1907. Frances Baker was raised and educated in NYC. Her mother was a bareback rider in the circus and her father the right-hand man to Wild Bill Hickok. Frances studied art at the Cooper Union. Upon moving to California in 1931, she settled in Menlo Park and further studied at the CCAC. In 1933 she married Albert Stainback. She died nearby in Palo Alto on April 6, 1974.
