|  Frank Leslie Sandford was a painter and a designer. He was born in Oakland, CA on Oct. 27, 1891. Sandford settled in Los Angeles in 1918. He studied there at Otis Art Institute and with J. Francis Smith and Frank T. Chamberlin. He designed and painted scenery for stage productions and worked as a scenic artist for MGM Studios before his death in Los Angeles on Oct. 12, 1977.
