1936 May 12, Frank Philip Stella born in Malden, Massachusetts. His
father is a gynecologist, his mother had attended art school.
1950-54
Attends Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts, where he studied with
abstract painter Patrick Morgan. At Andover met Carl Andre and Hollies
Frampton 1954 Enters Princeton University. 1955 at Princeton Stella
attends William Seitz' open painting studio. Begins to regularly visit
art museums and galleries in New York City. 1956 Studied painting (showing 500 of 24465 characters). |
