Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
| Painter. Born in California on July 11, 1864.
After a career as a mining engineer, Sherwood took up painting late in life. He then traveled to the East Coast and Europe for art study. He was active as an artist in La Jolla, CA from 1923 until his death there on Jan. 20, 1952.
