| Frederick was born in the Rhine Region of Germany where he was a newspaper and music publisher. He married W. Amelia in 1829. They had 13 children. Seven of his children emigrated with him to Detroit in 1862. He founded the F.A. Schober and Brothers Printing Company. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. One of his children, Marie, married Max Broock of Detroit, Michigan who was a prominent citizen.
