Born in Chicago, Illinois, George Schroeder was an energetic businessman and self-taught artist who eventually settled in Idaho in 1906. There he was a resident of Twin Falls, Rupert, Heyburn and Burley, and became an effective promoter of art throughout the state.
A signpainter for years, he developed a chain of businesses from Chicago to Lincoln, Nebraska.
His favorite scenes were of the Sawtooth Mountains and Jackson Lake country. The artist also painted in California, Utah an (showing 500 of 742 characters). |
