| | Painter. Born in NYC on March 15, 1862. Schreiber studied with Wm M. Chase and Thomas Eakins, and in Paris at Ecole des Beaux Arts. Returning from Paris about 1892, he established a studio in Chicago which he shared with Charles F. Browne. By 1925 he had settled in Santa Monica, CA where he was active in the local art scene. He died in Santa Clara, CA on Sept. 3, 1940. Schreiber painted seascapes, landscapes, portraits, and figure studies. Exh: Santa Monica Public Library, 1930; Calif. WC Society, 1942.
