| Born in Acadia Parish, LA on April 26, 1903. Stanley grew up and attended high school in Watsonville, CA. During 1923-26 he studied at the Otis Art Institute (he taught there during 1926-42) in Los Angeles where he was awarded a scholarship to study bronze casting at the School of Arts in Santa Barbara (he taught there during 1927-28). His career was spent in Los Angeles where he fulfilled many important municipal commissions, the most famous being the movie industry's Oscar award (showing 500 of 1564 characters). |
