| A member of Great Northern AUK Workshop and founding member of Oshawa
Art Gallery, Gerald Squiares was an artist and teacher who lived at
Ferryland, Newfoundland in Canada. He taught at Memorial
University Newfoundland beginning 1970.
He had been a student in Toronto at Danforth Technical School and the Ontario College Art.
Exhibition venues included the Ontario Society of Artists 1965; Western
Ontario annual, 1966; Montreal Museum Fine Arts, 1967; and Painters in
Newfoundland, 1968-71.
Special recognitions were first and second prizes, Great Northern AUK
Workshop Conceptual Painting & Sculpture, Newfoundland. Arts
& Letters Competition, 1972; Ron Mason, Newfoundland, Canada and
George Ruckus, Picture Loan Gallery, Toronto, Ontario, 1970s.
His work is in the Vincent Price Collection; Montreal Museum Fine Arts;
Memorial University Newfoundland; University Toronto; Saidye
& Samuel Bronfman Collection, Montreal.
