| | Born in Chillicothe, OH on Sept. 16, 1881. The Patterson family arrived in Los Angeles in 1889 and settled into a little white cottage where the Richfield Oil Bldg now stands. A graduate of Stanford University, Hazel further studied with Gutzon Borglum, Nona White, Emma Siboni, and at Mills College in Oakland.
