| | Born in Chillicothe, OH on Sept. 16, 1881. The Patterson family arrived in Los Angeles in 1889 and settled into a little white cottage where the Richfield Oil Bldg now stands. A graduate of Stanford University, Hazel further studied with Gutzon Borglum, Nona White, Emma Siboni, and at Mills College in Oakland. After her marriage, she lived in San Gabriel, CA until her death on Jan. 23, 1968.
