| | Born in Germany in 1883. Schneider studied for several years in Paris, Florence, and Brussels where he was a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. Arriving in Los Angeles in 1909, he established a studio where he did portrait busts and the lions at the entrance to the Hershey Arms on Wilshire Blvd. In 1912 he moved to San Francisco.
