| | Born in Fairfield, IA on May 30, 1871. "Harry" Shriner studied art in Paris in 1891 under Carolus Duran and Leon Bonnat. Upon moving to southern California in 1909, he worked briefly in Los Angeles and then settled in La Jolla. He died there on Dec. 18, 1941. His work includes portraits and desert landscapes.
