| Born in Romania in 1889 into a long line of painters. Sachs came to the U.S. as a child, but studied in Europe and founded the Munich School of Expressionists. After his return to the U.S. about 1920, he established the Chicago Industrial Art School which was short-lived. He then moved to Ohio to direct the Dayton Art Museum and, under their auspices, established the Dayton Industrial School of Art. Sachs moved to Los Angeles in 1923 and was active as director of the Creative Art Students Le (showing 500 of 910 characters). |
