The following was submitted by his great-granddaughter from Berlin, Germany:
Born on October 15, 1857, the son of a tailor. After the war of
1870/71, a French Officer, living at his parents' house noticed the
young boy's talent and gave him some watercolors.
In 1875 he
graduated from high school and began his studies in liberal arts at
Halle University. Subsequently he worked as a teacher, also
obtaining a Ph.D. in French. Not satisfied with the life of a tea (showing 500 of 1427 characters). |
