This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Irene Stry worked in Provincetown and Truro  from the 1930's to the 1950's.  She often signed her works "Clair", in addition to I. Stry.   Stry exhibited at the Society of Independent Artists* in New York in the 1937-38.

She is best known for her charming, impressionist* seascapes and landscapes of Cape Cod, especially of Provincetown and Truro.  She was also noted for her colorful still life.

She was married to fellow artist, Eric Stry who trained at the National Academy of Design*.

She was listed in Davenport's Art Reference and Price Guide Gold Edition in addition to Who's Who.
