This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Born in Augusta, KS on July 5, 1903. Isabelle Counsil moved to California with her family about 1908. After graduating from the CCAC in 1923, she taught crafts and fine arts in the California public schools of Garden Grove, Hughson, Turlock, and Modesto until retirement in 1956. She was wed to Menno Schrock from 1927 until his death in 1943; in 1953 she married James K. Barnett. She was a resident of Modesto, CA until the late 1980s and then moved to San Francisco. Mrs. Barnett died there on July 13, 1995. Her oils, watercolors, acrylics, and serigraphs won many prizes in local shows.
