| Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Dec. 22, 1911. Sanford came to San Francisco with her family at age three and in 1920 moved down the peninsula to Burlingame. She studied at San Mateo Jr. College, CSFA, ASL of NYC, and with Morris Kantor. She worked at Gump's in San Francisco and the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1975. During her art career she received many ribbons and cash prizes in northern California shows. A spinster, Sanford died in Fresno, CA on Sept. 29, 2004. Exh: Pen (showing 500 of 790 characters). |
