Born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 4, 1939, James Nicholson Shipley attended Loyola College and the University of Maryland before furthering his art education by graduating from the Art Center College of Design at Los Angeles in 1971.
He was also a member of the prestigious Charcoal Club of Baltimore founded in 1889.
In 1974 he was awarded the Prix de Paris by the famous Raymond Duncan Gallery of Paris. During his long career, he was honored by one-man shows in Los An (showing 500 of 1911 characters). |
