Jan Jacob Coenraad Spohler was the first-born son of the well-known Dutch artist Jan Jacob Spohler. Information concerning Spohler's formal education is sparse. It is evident, that Spohler followed his father’s example. Like his father, Jan Jacob Coenraad Spohler dedicated his life to the portrayal of the Dutch landscapes and cityscapes and became a well-known painter himself.
