Joan Stier is a painter as well as president of the Central New York branch of the National League of American Pen Women, an organization of professional artists, writers and musicians, with National Headquarters in Washington, DC. She is also a 30-year member of the North Syracuse Art Guild; and a member of the Visual Arts Committee of the Cultural Resources Council, Syracuse, NY. This group promotes a juried art exhibition quarterly at the WCNY public television station of Syracuse.
