| | Born in Alameda, CA on Feb. 15, 1900. Serex (pronounced Seré) majored in art and minored in forestry while at UC Berkeley. Upon graduation in 1922, he was a commercial artist for a few years before opting for a career in forestry. His lived in Berkeley until shortly before his demise in Monterey, CA on March 25, 1980.
