This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Fruitvale, CA on May 23, 1895. Juanita Storch began to draw and paint watercolors at an early age. Her art lessons began at Fruitvale School and continued with local artist James A. Holden. In 1912 she enrolled at the CCAC where she was a pupil of Worth Rider and Elizabeth Ferrea. In 1915 she moved with her family to Rincon Valley in Sonoma County, CA. When not working in Bruner's Art Store in Santa Rosa, she often joined her friends Grace and Alice Griffith on painting excursions. During the mid-1930s she attended painting classes given at Santa Rosa High School by G. Sadler Pittock and began to paint in oil at that time. From 1944-46 she taught art at Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa. She painted oils until toward the end of her life and then returned to pen-&-ink and watercolor. Her subject matter seldom strayed from Sonoma County. A spinster, she died there on Jan. 26, 1987. In: Sonoma Co. Museum.
