| | Born on a sugar plantation in Waichinu, Hawaii on Aug. 29, 1890. At age 17 Searle moved to San Francisco and worked as a sparring partner. After serving in WWI, he settled in Los Angeles where he was a stunt man-actor in the movies known as Samuel Cooper Searle. While filming the first Tarzan serial, he was injured and abandoned acting. He was active as a sculptor during the last two years of his life. He died in Los Angeles on Feb. 14, 1924. | Source:
