Carl Skoog   (1878 - 1934)

Born in Vase, Varmland, Skoog first studied at the Academy of Arts and Handicraft in Gothenburg, then after immigrating to Boston in 1902, at the school of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.  A sculptor, he created a monument for soldiers slain in World War I in Cambridge, Massachusetts and figures for the John Morton Memorial Museum, predecessor to the Swedish Historical Museum, in Philadelphia.
