Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Sculptor, landscape painter. Born in Providence, RI on March 23, 1885. Katherine was the daughter of feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman and artist Charles W. Stetson. She studied in Rome, at the PAFA, and with Wm M. Chase, Sergeant Kendall, Herman D. Murphy, Birge Harrison, Cecilia Beaux, and her husband, F. Tolles Chamberlin. After settling in Pasadena in 1925, she remained there until her death on Feb. 18, 1979. Exh: PAFA, 1912-26; NAD, 1914-16; LACMA, 1921-25 (medal); Painters & Sculptors of LA, 1921-30; Sculptors Guild of So. Calif., 1922; Calif. Art Club, 1924-26; Pasadena Society of Artists, 1924-51; LA Co. Fair, 1925, 1927 (gold medal); San Diego FA Gallery, 1926. In: LACMA. AAA 1913-33; WWAA 1936-62; FId; SCA.
