| A painter, printmaker and sculptor with paper, who does much of her
painting on her handmade paper, Kay Stanfield is from Nova Scotia,
Canada. She studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design,
and earned the college's first Governor General Medal.
Stanfield gives workshops in watercolor and papermaking in the public
schools and at the College of Art and Design. A creation grant in
1999 from the Nova Scotia Arts Council helped her focus more of her
energy on papermaking.
