This biography from the Archives of AskART:

Keith Sanzenbach was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1931, he died at Big Sur 1964.  He graduated in 1954 from Syracuse University with a degree in Fine Arts.  He moved to Berkeley in 1955, then settled in San Francisco in 1956 to live as an artist.  He showed his works in bars and local galleries and lived in places with fellow artists as Wallace Berman, Dick Kiggens, Jack Carrigg and Arthur Richer.  His earliest works are figurative, but he later develops an abstract, visionary style characterized by intense colours as seen in his mandala series.

He left for Big Sur in 1962.  Some of his sketches and painting were in the collection of Dr. Reidar Wennesland in San Francisco and now belong to the University of Agder and the Kristiansand Cathedral School Gimle, Norway.
