Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Laura Stroud Ladd was a landscape and floral painter who settled briefly in Arizona but lived primarily in Philadelphia.
She took her art training at the Philadelphia School of Design for Women and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and then went briefly to Arizona in the 1920s. She is listed as having exhibited at the Arizona State Fair in November 1926, and according to the American Magazine of Art, 1927, she won a prize for a painting (showing 500 of 1095 characters). |
