Biography from The Caldwell Gallery:
| Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
The British watercolorist Lilian Stannard belonged to a dynasty of late 19th- and early 20th-century painters. An artist who specialized in garden views, she participated regularly in the annual exhibitions at the Royal Academy in London between the years 1905 and 1930. Her style is firmly rooted in the careful English watercolor tradition. She was the sister of Henry Sylvester Stannard, and the daughter of John Stannard, all of Woburn. |
