| Lora (Dora) Woodhead Steere was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 13, 1888. Lora Woodhead was a student at USC, a graduate of Stanford University (1911), and received an M.A. degree from George Washington University (1927). In 1914 she married Major Thomas Steere. She studied sculpture in Berlin with Toft, Bela Pratt at Boston Museum School of Art, Leo Lentelli and Ralph Stackpole at CSFA, and with Florence Wyle in Toronto, Canada.
