Louis G. Sicard, Sr. was born August 7,1897 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Jean Charles ( Charles) Sicard, and he was one of eleven children. His father was an architect and builder in New Orleans. Sicard studied at Tulane University under Elsworth Woodward, Charles Wellington Boyle, Claude Jackson and Luis Granier
He moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1933 and resided there until his death at age 92 on January 8, 1990. He painted professionally for 75 years completing his last painting one (showing 500 of 1947 characters). |
