| Born in Texas in 1890, Lucille Stonier was a graduate of the Chouinard Art Institute and Parsons School of Design. She studied under Eliot O''Hara and William Lester Stevens. She was a member of the Asheville (NC) Art Guild, Black Mountain (NC) Art Club, Palm Beach Art League, and the Southern States Art League.
She exhibited widely in the South, winning a number of awards for her work. She was a practitioner of the American Scene style of watercolor painting. Her work is in the collection of the Norton Museum of Art and Veteran's Hospital in Otean, North Carolina.
