Biography from Cody Fine Art Gallery:
Lyn St. Clair’s career began at age twelve, with portraits from life at dog and horse shows.  She self-published an extensive collection of limited edition prints of dogs from her pen and ink drawings before turning her focus to painting.

Since 1993, when she first began exhibiting her paintings, St. Clair's work has won over 60 awards across the country and has been juried into such prestigious shows as “Wild in de Natuur” in the Netherlands, Arts for the Parks Top 100, Bennington Center for the Art’s “Art of the Animal Kingdom,” Tucson Museum of Art’s “Women Artists and the West,” and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s “Birds in Art.” Recently she was accepted into The Society of Animal Artists. As of 2002, Lyn has won Best in Show for Painting for the third consecutive year at the Ward World Competition in Ocean City, MD.

Lyn St. Clair’s paintings are based on her experiences studying, photographing, sketching and painting her subjects in the field.  She travels extensively to plein air paint and observe wildlife in its natural habitat.  In 2003, Lyn completed her project “48x48”, painting in 48 states over 48 weeks for the benefit of cancer research.  Lyn was “Artist of the Year” 2005 at the Fallbrook Art and Cultural Center’s “Reflections of Nature” show in Fallbrook, CA
