| Born in Washington, DC on May 3, 1873. Somervell was educated at Cornell University and Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. He worked as an architect in New York, Vancouver, and Seattle (1916) before serving in WWI. The years 1920-25 were spent in France recovering from the effects of the war. In 1925 he settled in Los Angeles and established the architectural firm of Somervell & Putnam. His etchings include European architectural scenes and California landscapes. He died in Paris, Fr (showing 500 of 702 characters). |
