| Born in Chicago, Illinois on Sept. 2, 1898. Margaret Sprado moved with her family to Alameda, CA in 1908 and spent her teens in southern California. After graduating from Hollywood High School in 1919, she returned to the San Francisco Bay area where she remained as a resident of Alameda County until her demise in Lafayette on April 5, 1989. A self-taught artist, she painted watercolors of floral still lifes prior to 1940. She was the wife of Emil Schlichtmann.
