| | Born in Tacoma, WA on Dec. 28, 1892. Smith studied at the CCAC, Portland (OR) Museum School, University of Chicago, University of Oregon, UCLA, Chouinard School of Art, and with Millard Sheets. She appears to have settled in southern California about 1925 and for 45 years taught in the public schools of Alhambra. Her last 10 years were spent in Santa Barbara; she died there on Jan. 31, 1977. Member: Southern Calif. Art Teachers Ass'n; Pacific AA; Women Painters of the West; Pasadena Society of Artists; Calif.
