| Born on Nov. 26, 1910 in San Francisco, CA into a pioneer family. Marjorie’s grandfather was an early St Helena vintner who had settled in Napa in 1850. At San Francisco State College she obtained a teacher's degree and a scholarship to the CSFA where she studied under Spencer Macky, Ralph Stackpole, and Diego Rivera. During the 1930s she produced lithographs for the WPA. After her marriage to artist Jan Sabre in 1941, she specialized in painting portraits, florals, and landscapes.
