Sister Mary Stanisia (1878-1967)
Born May 4, 1878 in Chicago, Illinois.
Sister Stanisia, an internationally known mural and portrait artist, was the supervising director of the departments of art at the Longwood Academy, 95th Street and Beverly Hills. She created six complete sets of murals for Chicago churches, which means 72 separate, original compositions. Her portrait studio in Chicago was filled with many distinguished and prominent p (showing 500 of 858 characters). |
