This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in New York on May 13, 1870. Mrs. Schaetzel was a resident of Los Angeles prior to her move to Paris in 1920. She did many paintings from her window overlooking the Seine. She returned to Los Angeles in 1933 and resided at the Claremont Manor until her death on Jan. 17, 1952. Her work includes floral still lifes and scenes of Paris. Exh: Paris Salon, 1924; Bernhelm Jeune Galllerie (Paris), 1931; Nicholson Gallery (Pasadena), 1934, 1935; Desert Inn (Palm Springs), 1934; Biltmore Salon (LA), 1934, 1936, 1942; O'Toole Gallery (NYC), 1941.
