| Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Mildred Smitham studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and was a member of the teaching staff at the William Rockhill Nelson Gallery.
She moved to Arizona, where in the mid 1950s, she taught art in Tucson at the Arizona Desert School and St. Philip's in the Hills. Her favorite medium was watercolor. |
