| | Born in Salamanca, NY on Oct. 10, 1875. After graduation from the University of Iowa, Sheldon taught in Boone before further studying under Millett at the AIC. During 1903-08 she had a studio in Los Angeles in the Blanchard Building where she taught both ceramics and china painting to small classes. While in Los Angeles, she painted scenes of Chinatown, florals, and heads of women in oil and watercolor. In 1908 she left Los Angeles to wed attorney Graham Lawrence of Marshalltown, IA and abandoned her art career. She died there on Oct. 27, 1967.
