| A magazine illustrator, Otto Schmidt worked for "Judge", "Farm Journal" and "Saturday Evening Post". He was born in Philadelphia and lived there and in Lindenwood, New Jersey. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Academy of Design, and Shinnecock Summer School. Among his teachers were Thomas Anshutz, William Merritt Chase, and Emil Carlsen.
